Time tracking with proof of work

Every hour of remote work, proven and accounted for.

Screenshots and activity counts back every tracked hour. Added time counts only after a manager approves it, so owners, teams and clients share one record.

Hours get paid on trust. Disputes get settled on memory.

Remote and hybrid teams are paid by the hour, but most of the record is a number someone typed. When it is questioned, nobody has the evidence.

  • Time added with no reason
  • Screenshots only the boss can see
  • Timesheets edited after the fact
  • Clients asking if an hour was real
  • Glitches counted as work

From a click on play to a report your client can open.

Every hour passes the same five stops. It only becomes final at Approve.

  1. 01Track

Pick a task in the desktop app and press play. Windows, macOS and Linux.

  2. 02Sync

Time, task and screenshots reach PixaTimer about every 30 seconds. Blocks over 90 seconds or running backwards are discarded.

  3. 03Review

Screenshots arrive grouped by hour, each with its keyboard and mouse counts. Under 20 events is flagged low activity.

  4. 04Approve

Added time needs a written reason. A manager signs it off before it counts. Time becomes final here.

  5. 05Report

Time Sheet, Time Use and Projects reports, each one click from Excel. Filters are remembered for 90 days.

See the work, not a guess.

The tracker takes screenshots as people work and counts their keyboard and mouse events. Managers see what was on screen, not a guess.

  • Everyone sees their own

People see their own screenshots. Managers see only the people they manage.

  • Filter by project, person and date

“No project allocated” is a filter too.

  • Open any capture full screen

With its project, task and activity bars.

Added time needs a reason. Approval makes it count.

Forgot to press play during a call? Anyone can add the time, but they have to say why. Until a manager approves it, it stays highlighted and out of most totals.

  • Every entry shows its source

Added time is marked Manual on its row.

  • Tracked times stay put

Regular users can’t move the start or end of app-tracked time.

  • Overlaps don’t double-count

Where added time overlaps tracked time, the added time wins.

Try it: this is what a manager sees. Reason given: “Call taken on phone, laptop closed”

Sample PixaTimer desktop tracker: Invoice export is running, with 4h 46m worked today.

Try it: a break is one click.

Your team presses play. That’s the whole job.

One small desktop app. Tasks sit in folders and projects, each shows today’s time, and a break is one click.

  • Folders that match how people work

Current, Next, Permanent and Future Tasks, plus any folders of their own.

  • Today’s time on every task

Switch tasks with one click; the total for the day stays on screen.

  • An idle reminder you can switch on

The tracker can remind people when they’ve gone idle.

One record. Three seats at the table.

Owners, the people doing the work and the clients paying for it read the same hours, shaped for what each needs to decide.

See who’s working right now, and on what.

The admin dashboard lists your team with a live dot for anyone tracking, their current task and their total for the day or week. Click a name to open that person’s full dashboard.

  • The 30 latest screenshots across the company, in one carousel.
  • People whose low-activity captures passed 10% over their last 7 active days.

Low activity in the last 7 days: Sara Khan 18%, Dev Patel 12%. Visible to their managers and company owners only.

Everything in one record.

The tracker, the screenshots, the edits, the approvals and the reports all work from the same hours, so nothing has to be reconciled by hand.

Comes out

  • Approvals

Added time counts once a manager accepts it.

  • Reports

Time Sheet, Time Use and Projects.

  • Excel export

    Every report downloads as .xlsx.

Around every record

  • Roles

Owner, Manager and Regular User each see what their role needs.

  • Company isolation

Each company is separate. Deactivate one and its users are locked out.

Verification without surveillance.

  • Only your managers and the company owners see them too. Regular users see only their own data, the same record their manager sees about them.

  • Owners see the company. You decide who manages whom, which projects people join, and who gets payroll or billing access.

  • Fix a missed hour in the open: added time carries its reason and stays not approved until a manager accepts it.

Controls you set

  • Low-activity filter
  • Idle reminder you can switch on
  • Required reason on added time
  • Approval before it counts
  • Delete screenshots (owners and managers)
  • Project access
  • Payroll and billing access
  • Company isolation

Set up your team once.

Add people, give them a level, decide which projects they can track to. PixaTimer wires up the rest.

Which computers does the tracker run on?

Windows, macOS and Linux. Each platform has its own download, with the version, release date and release notes shown before you install.

How often does time sync?

About every 30 seconds, along with the current task and any new screenshots. Blocks longer than 90 seconds, or that run backwards, are discarded as glitches.

What counts as low activity?

A screenshot with fewer than 20 combined keyboard and mouse events. The admin dashboard lists people where more than 10% of their screenshots were low activity, measured over their last 7 active days within the past 30 days.

Can employees change their tracked time?

They can add time they missed, with a required reason. A regular user’s added time is marked “not approved” until a manager accepts it, and they can’t move the start or end of time the app tracked.

Who can see screenshots?

Regular users see only their own. Managers see the people they manage, and owners see the whole company. Owners and managers can delete screenshots; deleting time also deletes the screenshots taken in that window.

Do my clients need an account?

No. Export the Time Sheet, Time Use or Projects report to Excel and send it. There is no client login to manage.

How do logins work?

People sign in with email and password; the email is remembered and a session lasts 10 hours. A forgotten-password request goes to the company admin.

Which time zone do days follow?

A day follows India Standard Time (GMT+5:30), and weeks run Monday to Sunday.

Know where every hour went.
